Who are we?

Sue Howard
Sue Howard
Sue Howard has been a pioneer in encouraging the need to explore the spiritual dimension of individuals and organisations in the UK.  She offers a range of workshops and interventions using the model as a basis for reflection and dialogue.  Workshops encourage self-awareness, and transformational change.

Sue obtained her BA whilst living and working in the USA, then completed an MA in Management Learning at Lancaster University in 2001.  Her research into ‘Spirituality and its links to learning in the workplace’ led to the publication of the Spirit at Work Phenomenon, by Azure, in 2004.  She has a number of additional published articles. Sue is studying for a Phd at Winchester Business School researching into “the impact and influence of spirituality on organisational development”.

Sue has been invited to address both international and UK audiences, including Cass Business School in London, exploring in these various contexts the importance of paying attention to spirituality and the difference it can make within organisational settings.

As Director of Corporate Affairs for the Academic Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion (www.jmsr.com) Sue has organised workshops with leading academics and practitioners in this field including Dr. Marjo Lips-Wiersma (www.holisticdevelopment.org.nz); Dr. Judi Neal (www.spiritatwork.org) and Martin Rutte (www.martinrutte.com, www.spiritualityandtheworkplace.ca, www.projectheavenonearth.com).  These workshops have been sponsored by the Centre for Excellence in Leadership (www.centreforexcellence.org.uk)

It was through the first JMSR workshop that Dr. Marjo Lips-Wiersma was able to introduce her model to the UK and this has resulted in both Roffey Park Institute and Ashridge management school using the model as part of their leadership retreats.  Sue continues to work with Marjo to develop ways of working with this approach within a variety of post-graduate contexts.

Sue has previously worked within the School of Management at Cranfield University, and with the global NGO World Vision.  She serves as Board Trustee of a national charity.
